Key changes to the subclass 482 visa as of 12 Dec 2024

  • Name changed from Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa to Skills in Demand (SID) visa

Substantial compliant requirement  Regardless of streams, this clause is applicable. This means the applicant has complied substantially with the previous visa conditions including a bridging visa

Significant changes affecting the SID visa holders,

  • The visa holders are allowed to change approved sponsors without losing the accumulated employment period meeting the 2-year requirement to have worked in the nominated occupation as a 482 visa holder.
  • 1) the period of ceasing to work in the nominated occupation extended to 180 consecutive days at once and 2) the accumulated period cannot exceed 365 days during the visa period for the visa holder’s visa
